The story of Bonifacio’s Restaurants begins with Francisco Bonifacio Torres de Vega, an entrepreneur whose career in hospitality started almost by chance.
During his college years, Francisco found himself working in the campus cafeteria. What began simply as a college job soon became something more. He discovered that he genuinely enjoyed the restaurant environment—the energy of the kitchen, serving people, and the satisfaction that comes from creating an experience guests can enjoy together.
That early experience planted the seed for what would eventually become Bonifacio’s Restaurants.

From El Fuerte to a Growing Restaurant Family
Years later, Francisco and his family undertook the restoration and remodeling of Hotel Torres del Fuerte in the historic Pueblo Mágico of El Fuerte, Sinaloa. Within the hotel, Francisco saw the opportunity to create something special: a restaurant that would complement the character of the property while giving travelers and local residents a memorable place to dine.

The first Bonifacio’s was born.
Set within the historic surroundings of Hotel Torres del Fuerte, the restaurant established the foundation for the Bonifacio’s philosophy: exceptional food, distinctive surroundings, attentive service, and genuine Mexican hospitality.
Building on the success of El Fuerte, the family looked toward another of northwestern Mexico’s most celebrated destinations—San Carlos, Sonora. Bonifacio’s expanded to the Sea of Cortez, bringing its style of dining and hospitality to a destination known for its dramatic mountains, marina, beaches, and spectacular sunsets.

Today, the story continues in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, where Bonifacio’s has partnered with the newly renovated and remodeled Hotel Mansión del Cobre to open its third restaurant. The partnership brings together a refreshed hotel destination and the established Bonifacio’s tradition of cuisine and hospitality, creating a new dining experience for both local residents and travelers visiting Los Mochis.

With the opening of Hotel Bonifacio’s Los Mochis, the restaurant family enters an exciting new chapter while remaining true to the philosophy that began with the original restaurant in El Fuerte.
